Northern Recycling accepts yard and food waste which is processed and composted at our facility to create compost. Go to our Accepted Materials page for details on what we accept.

At the Yolo County C&D Facility, in order to be accepted for recycling, each load must contain at least 65% by weight of the following materials: Wood, Card Board, Drywall, Inerts, Metals, and Plastics.

The CASP facility and anerobic digester create compost that is screened and ready for sale. This compost can be purchased at our facility or delivered. We also make recycled gypsum from crushed and screened wallboard (sheetrock) onsite. Other products we sell are top soil (native soil blended with compost), and screened woodchips. All products subject to availability.

Pick Up at YCCL:
Products are available to pick up at our facility. Customers can speak to a spotter first, spotter will direct customer onto scale to speak with scale attendant, customer vehicle will be weighed prior to loading compost, customer will be directing to compost pick up location, customer will reweigh at scale and pay prior to leaving.

Northern Recycling:
Northern Recycling delivers for small, local deliveries. Complete the Product Inquiry form for more information on deliveries and to receive a delivery quote. Maximum quantity for delivery is 10 tons / or 20 cubic yards.

Westside Spreading LLC:
Northern Recycling partners with Westside Spreading LLC, a locally based company in Woodland, CA. Westside Spreading plays a key role in supporting the agricultural community by helping growers improve soil health and sustainability through quality compost solutions and dependable service. The company serves agricultural and commercial clients by brokering, selling, and delivering compost and custom compost blends. They also offer professional compost spreading services for both local and regional customers.

Yolo County residents can pick up free compost during certain months at the YCCL.
